A Fun Cover

I've had a great summer, too busy with work to leave town, not that I'd want to. When I leave the city, after the initial novelty of a different locale wears off -- within a day -- I just want to come back home.

Here's one of the summer assignments, a cover for Mortgage Banking Magazine. It was to illustrate an article about rewriting laws in Washington to protect against another housing fiasco like the one we're experiencing. I immediately thought I'd like to do a candlelit scene to give it a dramatic "burning the midnight oil" vibe. I looked at some Georges de La Tour and Gerard Dou paintings online for inspiration and instruction, and had some fun.
