Obama and RFK

Here's a double portrait I did for The Progressive, to illustrate an article about Barack Obama's impromptu speech the day of the Virgina Tech murders, echoing Bobby Kennedy's famous speech after Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination.

I painted it in color and then converted it to grayscale for print. I played around a bit with the background after conversion, to put in some movement and underscore the Obama channeling RFK thing. The toughest part was to be sure that the Kennedy in the background was obviously Bobby, not Jack.
The way I paitned it, in color....
